Mine, this morning (0500 to be exact) was the following: MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW MAOW? MAOWMAOW!
When you are pulled against your will from your sub-conscious, your brain goes into Kill Mode as soon as you recognize the noise. Oh Kitty, where aaaaarre youuuu? There you are. Why, what's that in your mouth? OH A MOUSE HOW PLEASANT.
Mister Murderer had successfully caught - and killed - a little mouse very early this morning. What threw me was that as soon as I stumbled into the bathroom and found a light to help deduce this situation, he stopped making noise. I saw Brak stretched out on the living room floor in kind of a weird position, and my brain immediately said "Hello, your cat is no more. He has ceased to be."
A bad feeling, that one - until his tail flapped a bit. Then the other girl-y portion of my brain kicked in to remind me of the prior time he caught a mouse. That's right. I was standing on the sofa for 25 minutes and trying to get the mouse outside via telekinesis.
Brak had begun jumping around a bit and pawing at the carpet where ...something seemed to be, so at this point there was really only one thing to do: Wake Up Someone Else. (He's a guy, things like this are in his contract.)
Me: ::squee squee:: kitty - he has something - i think it's a mouse - itsamousehehasamouse
Jason: ::sleeping:: guh. whut?
Me: I THINK THE CAT HAS A MOUSE
Jason: grr. uh. guh. k.
He went out to the living room to confirm that the cat did indeed have a mouse, which had now upgraded its' status to Dead Mouse. Probably a heart attack, possibly Death By Kitty. This current (very dead) mouse looked just like the one that had previously been trapped in our place, so I can't help but wonder if he came back to try and claim some vengeance.
Sorry buddy, today it looks like you're traveling by failboat.
As J was helping Brak realize that his new toy was going out to its' new home (the dumpster), I see a spot on the blinds. A large black spot, and we don't have Christmas lights that could possibly be poking through.
Me: Look at the blinds. In the front.
Jason: ::looks::
Me: What is that black spot?
He pokes at the blinds, and you know what it is? A MOTH. A moth!!!! You don't understand.
As he proceeds to score more man points by removing the mouse, killing and removing the moth, I close the bedroom door and go back to bed. It is 0530. Happy Sunday.
Won't you have some Waffles Of Mine?
Ahhh... anybody that gets the reference.... well, you win. :)

Do you/did you call your significant other Baby/Sweetie/Honey?
No. Never.
Do you/did you call your significant other by a special pet name?
When
I am feeling particularly girly (this is generally only in written
format) I call him "mi mono". Back in the day he went by "bishop" and
also "Erick". Those two names are pretty much tucked on that mental
shelf that hardly ever sees any light. On rare serious/loving occasions
we will call each other by our full first names. Full first/middle/last
names are reserved for joking only. He has a number of pet names for
me, but it's pretty much along the lines of 'wench'. :)
Do you/did you do this in public (at the store, etc)?
Not really - when we're out in public we rarely call each other by any sort of name, the conversation is unspoken or continuous.
Do you/did you do this around your friends?
Yes.
West Coast peeps know him as "J" or "j'luxe" or even "Monkey", but East
Coast friends/family know him as Jason. And yes, it's "J" as in the
letter.
How frequently? (It's replaced their first name for me, very often, often, rarely, only during cuddling/special time.)
Since
we've got multiple names for each other, frequency depends on the
situation. I switch between "J" and "J'luxe"... in varying forms of
l33t. Calling him "Monkey" is reserved for casual moments, mostly
between close mutual friends of ours. The majority of the time I refer
to him as "J" (when speaking to people), and he usually refers to me as
"Larissa" when he's talking to other people.
If you do not/did not do this, what are your feelings on it?
That whole honey-sweetie-baby thing just feels like a mental splinter. This is probably because most people I know that do say it go overboard, and it's always sounded very fake to me. Like cilantro*, it should be used sparingly.
*haha sure, why not.
Some folks have asked, and I wanted to clarify. For anybody that was keeping score: May 28, 2008 will be our seven-year anniversary. We’ve been sort of off and on for a decade now, so anybody that says we haven’t put in our time is crazy. Official engagement date: March 18th, 2008. Aw snap! So yeah, we leveled IRL. It was a pretty casual mutual decision of sorts, but I am proud to say that I’ve learned to laugh and cry at the same time. :))
I’m happy, Jason’s happy, Brak’s happy. No date set yet or anything like that, our main goal right now is to purchase a home, which will take anywhere from 12 to 36 months. [Sweet Hebus let's hope for sooner rather than later.] Then after that we can start planning for some sort of celebratory function. Beach life is fun for a little bit, but five years will definitely wear on your patience - especially when you live in Spring Break Central. Ugh, give me a gated community on the hills of LJ anyday. It’s just right there, COME ON.
In the meantime: let the mimosa-drinkin’ begin! :)
Uh, we updated our status. Statii. Because it's not fo' realz until you update your MySpace/Facebook/Friendster/Twitter/Flickr/Amazon, right?

"Which swear word are you? Fu$k? Bitch? Something else? Find out instantly with this 8 question quiz!"
Hmm, after careful thought and answering eight random questions that have nothing to do with anything, I'm don't send me any more fucking application requests! Wow! Who would've thought?!?
In other news: this weekend has been AWESOME so far. ::ding ding ding:: winner winner winner!!!
Larger/more detailed images to follow, for now here are some drunken shots of me, J, and a ma0wma0w that's happy to see us again. :) For my birthday J got a surprise 3-day/2-night package at the Glorietta Bay Inn and it was spiffy. He got a mansion suite which was probably bigger than our whole apartment. There was some hot tub action and champagne drinking. Lots of champagne drinking, at least for me anyway. Just got home and am feelin' good. Woo!

Last night was a good night. Mostly. Except that J drank roughly 15 beers and yakked up 20, starting around quarter to midnight.
That was him while he was still able to stand.
The rest of the photos are over here.
We had a great time and about 35 people showed up, it was a nice casual Black&White party, with a LOT of drunken folks. I stopped around my third cup of wine and was much happier for it, although today I'm feeling really hungover. Not as hungover as J... who spent a good two hours bunched up on the steps outside, doing the Hollywood diet. Ergh. As soon as I finish my cup of tea it will be naptime.
Hope everyone had a good NYE and here's to a great '08. Aww, it even rhymes. :)
He almost injured me while I tried to snag this, but it was worth it.
For reference, here's a Before photo.

The party went well. Really well. Cleanup this morning sucked but it was fun. I think we had about 60 people turn out, but it never seemed ultra crowded. All the bubbles mixed and things went well.
Good job guys! :)
Or if you're not logged in...

And to make it pretty...
