If you're a fan of Reno911 or Kids In The Hall or just good sketch comedy, MARK YOUR CALENDARS: July 14, 2009! Just in time to work up a good hangover for the sixth Harry Potter movie coming out the next day. ;)
I used to watch this show growing up with two of my BFFs. We spent many a day rehashing the amusement, so this is exciting. :)

Booga and Brody - Collaborative Works In Progress.
Just because this is The Internet, you get the disclaimer. If your place of employment doesn't care if you surf it at work, then it's probably okay. There are some nudie bits in the drawings though... but they're just drawings.
Gahh. Their work (collectively and separately) is so GOOD. I love it. Michelle proves that there's more to life than just drinking your way through the weekend. If any of you people are in the PA/Ohio area, please go check their stuff out and support it.
::wayne's world moment::
Today after breakfast, Jason and I stopped at Comics-N-Stuff for the first time in ever. We were looking for miniatures for me to start painting. Yeah, as in Warhammer or whatever. I have the itch again.
Anyway, fail on finding those, but I did score a very sweet plastic set of Brak's Mom & Dad!! WOOOOO!

Also. You know what they had at the counter? NKOTB TRADING CARDS. No stick of crappy gum inside though, just a sticker. I don't know if I'll be opening it though. But man!
OH OH OH OH-OH
OH OH OH OH

THE RIGHT STUFFZ
In other news, still sick.
"Which swear word are you? Fu$k? Bitch? Something else? Find out instantly with this 8 question quiz!"
Hmm, after careful thought and answering eight random questions that have nothing to do with anything, I'm don't send me any more fucking application requests! Wow! Who would've thought?!?
In other news: this weekend has been AWESOME so far. ::ding ding ding:: winner winner winner!!!
Larger/more detailed images to follow, for now here are some drunken shots of me, J, and a ma0wma0w that's happy to see us again. :) For my birthday J got a surprise 3-day/2-night package at the Glorietta Bay Inn and it was spiffy. He got a mansion suite which was probably bigger than our whole apartment. There was some hot tub action and champagne drinking. Lots of champagne drinking, at least for me anyway. Just got home and am feelin' good. Woo!

Last night was a good night. Mostly. Except that J drank roughly 15 beers and yakked up 20, starting around quarter to midnight.
That was him while he was still able to stand.
The rest of the photos are over here.
We had a great time and about 35 people showed up, it was a nice casual Black&White party, with a LOT of drunken folks. I stopped around my third cup of wine and was much happier for it, although today I'm feeling really hungover. Not as hungover as J... who spent a good two hours bunched up on the steps outside, doing the Hollywood diet. Ergh. As soon as I finish my cup of tea it will be naptime.
Hope everyone had a good NYE and here's to a great '08. Aww, it even rhymes. :)
It's like discovering Caturday all over again!!
Some good. Some bad. All Fail. :)
That last sentence sums up a lot of things. I don't even know where she's buried, but I digress.
I've been reading this book (the one in the picture) off and on for the past few years. From one of the editorial reviews...
There are two ways to create happiness:
The first is external. By obtaining better clothes, better shelter, and better friends we can find a certain measure of happiness and satisfaction. The second is through mental development, which yields inner happiness. However, these two approaches are not equally viable. External happiness cannot last long without its counterpart.... However, if you have peace of mind you can find happiness even under the most difficult circumstances. (Read both reviews here.)
This is not one of those books I feel should be read cover to cover after its' first reading; instead it should serve as a collection of notes to visit on those days when you need to focus on something other than your immediate circumstances. Much like the Bible (for those of you who put stock in it, and I am aware that some of my readers do not), you shouldn't take each word literally. Instead, you should absorb what you can, letting it sink in slowly, like a good wine... enjoying each moment and learning from the translation, instead of wondering if one fish really can feed ten thousand people.
In flipping through the pages today, a section on enlightenment caught my eye. I could go back and copy verbatim, but here's the part that I recall: the path to enlightenment comes from obvious things. Observe your surroundings instead of trying to jump right in. Remain calm, go with the flow. See if you can look at the whole puzzle and take that in; for matters of disagreement, wait until all parties can discuss things like responsible people.
There you have it - and here's hoping it will help those who can't see the forest for all those blasted trees.
Perfect for tea, some small red potatoes, probably a muffin. My friend Daisy and I are going to head to Hash House for some breakfast goodness. Then I'll probably come home and do nothing, despite the multitude of things crying out to be worked on. Like my novel, my basket o' cross-stitchery, some sketches... and the living room furniture that's currently in my kitchen. However, there is nothing like that early morning meetup with a buddy, to giggle over pancakes and coffee, with a side of crispy bacon.
Tofacon, if you're not a meat-eater.
I'm off until WEDNESDAY, woohoo!
